Retake/Redo Guidelines

1. All students in this course will be given the opportunity to retake or redo formative and summative assessments.

2.  Projects: Upon receiving feedback and/or a grade on any major project, students will have the option to incorporate the feedback for improvement and re-do the project for resubmittal. In order to resubmit, students must follow this procedure: 1) discuss the improvements to be incorporated with the instructor, 2) complete the improvements, and 3) re-submit the project for a new grade.

Tests: All formative work must be completed prior to the retake, including any additional practice assigned by the teacher.

3.  All retakes must be completed one week prior to the end of the quarter.  This will be adjusted as appropriate for students with IEP’s, 504’s or other individualized learning plans.

4. The assessment may be different from the original but the skills being assessed are of the same rigor.

5.  There will be no academic penalty to a student who has retaken an assessment; the highest score will be the student’s recorded grade.

6.  Semester Finals in this course cannot be retaken.

7.  This retake policy is also posted on the classroom website.
